"TONIGHT I CAN WRITE THE SADDEST LINES"
For this assignment in Dr. Griffin's class we had to find imagery in the poem "Tonight I can write the saddest lines" by Pablo Neruda. We had to show the imagery of the poem in either pictures or we had to describe it in our own words. I choose to do imagery in pictures because I founded more easier for me. The picture had to represent objects, actions and ideas in such a way that it appeals to our physical senses. Dr. Griffin first read the poem to the class. Then, he explain the assignment to us. When I saw other example of old students of Dr. Griffin' s class, I founded them to be really beautiful the way they explain imagery. First, I wanted to find the perfect background, it literally toke me a day and half to choose because I couldn't decide. Until I found a man like in sitting on the end of a well. I choose that picture because a broke hearted man wrote this poem and this man looks like he has been broken or lonely. finding the imagery wasn't that hard because when I was reading the poem by my self I saw the imagery in my mind so I just looked up a picture that relate of what it made me think. I did this assignment because like I said in my other reflections I want to improve in understanding poems. This assignment helped in understanding a poem by picturing in my mind. It helped me imagine what's happening in the poem just by breaking down the words in my mid and then putting them together in a picture.
