"ANNABEL LEE"
The poem
“Annabel Lee” by Edgar Alan Poe all I can say is Wow! This time for Dr.Griffin’s
class we had to identify stressed syllables, alliteration, and repetition by
creating a poster for the poem “Annabel Lee”. First, Dr. Griffin show us a
video someone reading the poem but the voice was awful how he read it. Then Dr.
Griffin read the poem to the class as always which I love. Then he explain the poem to us and the
assignment. My thought was easy grade but I was completely wrong this time.
This assignment has been one of the most not difficult but hard to accomplish I
could say. It took me like five days to finish it, I was getting frustrated
with it, and to the point I was going to skip it. I continue doing it because I
want my class grade to stay as high as it can. I also did this assignment
because it’s a long poem it would take me more time to understand which I
wanted because I want to get to the point where I just want to read a poem and
understand it. This poem made hate poems
even more because no one understand what I went through. I went to the library
to try and finish it, my assignment got deleted three times and I had to start
all over again, again and again. I was really mad that day, I had to include
this because it did really happen. I love the background I choose because it a
dead beautiful woman, and that how Edgar describe his Annabel Lee. I had and
still problems identifying the stressed syllable because I can’t in it in the
tone Dr. Griffin does.
Annabel Lee for me is a poem of love. A man completely in love with Annabel Lee. “And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side Of my darling—my darling—my life and my bride, In her sepulchre there by the sea— In her tomb by the sounding se” unless a man is crazy no man that’s in is not in love will sleep with a dead body of his wife. Also, he describes her as the most beautiful woman, he says her beauty is never going to go away. Even if all the women he love die of tuberculosis, or "The Red Death” I don’t see he describe his madness in this poem, he describe how he still love his Annabel Lee even when she dead.
